A Gaspesian, originally from Chandler, graduated in Chemical Engineering from Laval University in Quebec City in 1994 and in the fall of 2015 in Corporate Governance from the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS). Hugo St-Laurent is the co-founder of SiliCycle Inc. In 1993, he founded and co-chaired Enviro-Dynamique, a consulting firm specializing in environmental and process optimization. Before joining SiliCycle full-time, he worked for two years for the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique.
Hugo St-Laurent began the great SiliCycle adventure at the age of 23, working first on manufacturing processes, then on sales. Since 1998, he has managed all of the company's activities and supervised all of the vice-presidents and directors. Very active in sales and marketing, he is also very involved in financial strategies and human resources. He also manages strategic projects (acquisitions, implementations). He established the strategy and business model and started the internal incubator of innovative initiatives that led to the creation of 7 spin-off companies by SiliCycle. In 2016 Mirapakon, Total Ocean, Akua Nature and Groupe BoréaRessouces (GBR), in 2017 RV2 Technologies, in 2018 Pharma in silica and in 2019 PurCann Pharma.
Father of two children, Hugo St-Laurent is an active person on all levels: business groups, causes close to his heart, sports and culture lover. Creativity, determination, performance and respect are the four SiliCycle values that describe him so well.
