Our Successes

2025
  • The publication of a groundbreaking economic study demonstrating the growing importance of hemp and cannabis in Quebec’s economy.
  • The strengthening of the relationship between the UPA and our industry, firmly anchoring hemp and cannabis within Quebec’s agricultural landscape.
  • A joint intervention with the Régie de l’énergie, representing average savings of approximately $80,000 per year, per subscription, for eligible greenhouses.
  • Meetings with Quebec Members of the National Assembly to showcase the industry’s potential and prepare for upcoming elections.
  • The launch of our Members’ Area catalog, enabling members to promote their products in a secure environment and connect directly with industry peers.
  • The creation of the C Club, designed to broaden our scope of action and unite those actively contributing to the industry’s evolution.
  • The launch of the webinar series “Together, we innovate. We grow.”, a free and open forum bringing together scientific experts and industry professionals to improve practices and support business growth.
  • The removal of cannabis stalks from cannabis legislation, opening the door to their reuse and the development of bio-based materials.
  • The continued growth of a highly engaged social media community, actively contributing to the demystification and normalization of hemp and cannabis among the general public.
  • Organization of the first edition of the Women and Plants event, which brings together women from the cannabis, hemp, horticulture, and plant-related industries.
 
2023
  • IFCHA incorporated with 23 confirmed members
  • Association passes 100 member and partner milestone
  • Launch of our Careers section, featuring the latest job vacancies in the industry
  • Redesign of our website
  • Participation of the cannabis industry at the Salon de l'emploi et de la formation continue de Montréal
  • Organization of two events with the SQDC
  • Launch of the AQIC application so that our members can have all their tools at their fingertips

  • Submission to Health Canada of a brief entitled "A Sustainable and Responsible Industry: Key Success Factor in the Legalization of Cannabis", as part of the legislative review of the Cannabis Act:

2021
  • Recognition of AQIC as the industry's spokesperson by the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC)
  • Meeting with the cabinets of the main ministers of the Quebec and Canadian governments
  • Participation in the development and modification of cannabis regulations in Canada as the voice of the industry
  • Agreements with insurers Aon    AGA
  • Member of the horticultural table of the UPA
2020
  • Participation in Health Canada's Cannabis Regulations Consultation: Cannabis Research and Other Regulatory Issues
  • Publication of the ’ABC du cannabis : un petit guide essentiel to raise awareness and promote responsible consumption
  • Creation of a scientific committee to advance the science of medical cannabis / CBD in Quebec
  • Meeting with the provincial cabinets of Health, Finance and Economy and Innovation
  • Deposed memoire: Health Canada Public Consultation on providing financial assistance to the cannabis industry in the context of the COVID-19 Pandemic
  • Submissions to the 2020-2021 provincial and federal government pre-budget consultations
