Medical cannabis has been legally regulated in Canada since 2001 and access to medical cannabis remains a pillar of Canada’s cannabis framework. Many international countries look to Canada for its global leadership in medical cannabis policy and regulations.

Despite this long medical cannabis history, there remain significant gaps in public education and training of healthcare professionals, as well as research & development of medical cannabis products to improve our understanding of their safe use and therapeutic potential.

Therefore, the AQIC is committed to the advancement of medical cannabis and will maintain this webpage as a resource for its members, partners, and the public.
