The federal gouvernment has announced that it might harmonize the legislative framework for excise stamps stating that it will  ‘explore a transition from cannabis excise duty stamps specific to each province and territory to a single, national stamp’.

On November 8, the federal government created the Canadian Industrial Hemp Research and Promotion Board, to be administered by a Board of Directors made up of seven industrial hemp producers representing their province or group of provinces, one member representing importers, and one member from other sectors of the industrial hemp industry value chain.
