Sales up 12% at SQDCQuébec

Published 5 June 2025 by AQIC

For the fiscal year ending March 29, 2025, Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) recorded total sales of $741.5 million, compared with $662.1 million the previous year, for overall earnings of $118.0 million, compared with $104.1 million in 2023-2024. Added to this are tax revenues from its operations in the form of consumption and excise taxes valued at $249.5 million ($177.9 million paid to Quebec and $71.6 million to the federal government). SQDC's contribution to the Quebec government is therefore $295.9 million.

The $118.0 million dividend and the Quebec portion of the excise tax are paid in full to the Quebec Minister of Finance, and are earmarked for cannabis prevention and research, and for combating the harm associated with the use of psychoactive substances. A total of $221.9 million will be paid into the Addictions Fund.

In 2024-2025, SQDC offered 381 products bearing the “Cultivé Québec” label, representing some 61% of the total supply in the dried flower, prerolled, ground cannabis, hashish and kief categories, compared with 47% the previous year. Of its 52 suppliers, 37 were from Quebec. By law, all cannabis sold to SQDC is grown in Canada.
