In 2024, the number of Brazilian patients using medical cannabis increased by 50% compared to the previous year, with the majority of cannabis coming from imports. The market is now estimated at 852 million Brazilian reals, or 142 million US dollars.

SQDC has issued its first call for products for a device and cartridges that meet its criteria. One of these criteria? The products must not be flavored, so as not to attract young people who tend to prefer this type of product. According to Chu Anh Pham, public affairs advisor and spokesperson for the SQDC: “The reason we decided to begin the process of marketing cannabis vaping products is because this mode of consumption is a phenomenon that has taken off,” explains Ms. Pham. With what's available on the illegal market, we decided to act in line with our mission, which is to offer lower-risk products with the aim of protecting public health”.
