Our member Rubicon Organics is launching a hashish resin-infused poutine sauce that's now available at SQDC. As the company explains in a release, "combining the iconic flavors of Quebec's beloved dish with the unique flavors of cannabis, our new cannabis-infused poutine sauce arrives on the shelves of the Société québécoise du Cannabis."

During the 2022-23 fiscal year, cannabis excise tax revenues exceeded beer and wine revenues with cannabis amassing $894.6 million dollars and beer and wine combined, $887.7 million.

Committee on Finance recommends easing of excise tax

The federal House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance recommends a change in the way the excise tax is applied and that they pass from a rate of $1 per gram, or 10% of a producer's selling price, to an ad valorem rate of 10%.
