Joël Lalancette

A farmer and entrepreneur at heart, Joël Lalancette purchased his first piece of farmland at the age of 18. He went on to run several businesses before shifting his focus in 2010 to research and development for greenhouse strawberry cultivation. He started the project with 3,000 square feet and expanded it to 330,000 square feet by 2018, becoming the largest greenhouse strawberry producer in North America in the process.

Following this success, he decided to dedicate himself to developing 5 Points Cannabis; together with his partners, he built a company that has expanded nationwide, with products now sold in seven provinces.

Committed to manufacturing the best possible product and providing exceptional customer service, he views cannabis through the lens of agriculture. Joël loves surrounding himself with people who share his passion, which is why he enjoys collaborating with new growers and helping them reach their full potential. He takes pride in steering the ship and sharing his vision within the industry.

Partners in every aspect of life, Joël and his wife, Mélanie, have successfully struck a balance between work and family. Introducing their three children to life’s pleasures is also a top priority for them; whether traveling or simply out for a boat ride, they love enjoying life to the fullest.
